1st Empties post =)

Hello world ^^

This is going to be my very first ever “Empties” post. I absolutely love watching and reading these from other bloggers. Its so interesting because there is one thing that I find very hard to do, and its actually completely finishing a product. (only if you’re like me who like to try out new products OR on a hunt for the holy grail “IT” product)

I started collecting these since November 2014. I’m thinking of doing this type of post every 3-6 months (depending how many products I do finish during that period). Ok, enough of me blabbing on and on..

  1. Nivea – Soft
    • My everyday moisturiser for my face. I have been using this same one for the last 3 years. Back then I suffered from extreme dryness, but it wasn’t the dryness that was, slap on some moisturiser and its ok. It was dry BUT at the same time my face was extremely oily. I tried so many different types of products (drug store AND high end) nothing worked. My friend recommended to just going with something simple. And simple, worked. I’m actually scared to venture out for something new. BUT let me know if you guys have any recommendations for extreme combination skin like mineimage
  1. Garnier – Micellar Cleansing water
    • The next best thing to Bioderma. This is such a good eye make-up remover that is very affordable. The Bioderma was so expensive for me to get here in Australia, you either get it online (pay expensive postage) or buy small sizes at Priceline (drug store) for a ridiculous price. This always remove all my eye liner and mascara without any problems.

  1. Schwarzkopf – Extra care – Hair repaid with Liquid Keratin
    • This has helped my dry, chemical straightened hair and out of control hair, GET into control and manageable state for me. Give it a try guys =)

  1. Batiste – Cherry
    • Another lifesaver on days that I wake up late and don’t have enough time for a shower. My hair looks fresh, smells good AND gives me the prefect amount of volume.  I’ve tried the other scents and other brands but this one is the best “pleasant” one. (I say pleasant because so many of them stinks or just too over whelming, in my opinion anyways)image
  1. PeriPera – Tint Glow Stick (Wind Love)
    • My first ever lipstick I have finished. I love LOVE this lipstick on days I can’t be bothered putting on my favourite red lips. I can put this on without a mirror; stays put on the lips and is moisturising. This is my first product that I tried from this Korean brand. I now have 3 shades in total.

Best Face Powder ♥

Sana – Pore Putty Clear ♥

I have only recently started using this face powder on the recommendation of YouTube guru “Secretlifeofabionerd” AND its AAAMAZZING !!!

At first I was really skiptical because I have never tried Asian makeup before except for the Liole BB cream.  I got it because “Secretlifeofabionerd” her makeup looked great !! So flawless (so jealous).

Everyone at work has complimented me on having such smooth and bright skin.  And asking me what I am eating or doing different? hehehe its such a nice feeling getting complimented.  Another really good thing with this powder is that it really does control my oily face.  I use to have to use powder at lunch or pat my face with the oil sheets, but after using this I noticed that it’s only when I get home at night that its oily.  That’s really good as I’m usually at work by 8-8.30am.  I also found that it actually did cover my large pores!! (AMAZING)

I love the packaging, its so cute and compact to fit in my bag.  Its suppose to be a clear powder but after using couple of times, there is a foundation colour that comes off on the sponge that comes with it.  I use the sponge that it comes with because I use a patting motion to apply it,  it seems to work better that way.  I did try using a brush with it, but to I feel like it doesn’t distribute the product correctly and it doesn’t look as smooth.  My skin colour is very fair.  It’s NC20-25.

I really do recommend this product ladies =)  I got mine from SASA.com.  its the cheapest can could find.

squeaky clean makeup brushes =)

MUST clean your makeup brushes.

For a very long time I didn’t clean my makeup brushes.  I used to use and reuse brushes until they look yucky and throw them out.  Yes.  So bad an unhygienic of me. *slaps hand*  BUT now that I am getting more and more into my makeup, I learn that this is the most important step in keeping your face blemish free and not bacteria buildup that could ruin your skin.  There are many different ways (well a few different ways) of cleaning your brushes.  Over the last year or so, a lot of my YouTube gurus have taught me these ways.

From above No.1 -Baby Shampoo and No.2 – Extra virgin olive oil & dish washing detergent; are more of the intensive/deeper cleans for makeup brushes.  With these you will need water and to foam them up and swirl in your hand and rinse until clean.  The No.2 one in my opinion is more worthy or doing just because after washing, my brushes feel extra soft and like brand spanking new, because of the olive oil putting the moister back in them.  *my way of cleaning*

No. 3 – any brand of brush cleaner.  These are also very effective but is costly so I always prefer No.2 because you will almost every time have these ingredients already in your kitchen.

No. 4 – makeup remover wipes.  These are generally for those who wants to spot clean their brushes.  For instance if you’re using eye shadow on your favourite brush and you don’t happen to have another one on hand, you can simply use your makeup wipe to “Spot clean” and re-use instantly.  This is a very good way if you’re in a rush and not being able to have that clean brush to use.

How often should you clean your brushes?  Ideally, everyday. But, who has time for that right? Here are a few guidelines:

  • Foundation Brushes – minimum once a week
  • Brushes used for finishing powders and bronzers – once a week
  • Blush Brushes – one a week
  • Eyeshadow Brushes – every 2-3 days
  • Eyeliner Brushes – after every use especially if you use an eyeliner sealant.

Ladies, yes I know its such a hassel but trust me your skin will love you for it.  AND don’t forget to take off all makeup before heading to bed.  Gives you skin time to recover and breathe ^^
